More in the series:
This is a regular update my Now page. I publish them as a blog post for archive purposes. You can also view all my past now entries.
Some links only call for part of the blog post, but sometimes, I want to share some of the good stuff I encounter online. Each link was first saved to my /bookmarks page using a Shortcut and Notion, learn check this post if you want to learn more about my process. Enjoy this month's bookmarks!
- Blog What You Like, by Brandon β I also struggle with having high expectations when blogging.
- A decade of working remotely, by Lynn Fisher
- Who am I writing for, by Meadow
- Notes on Buying a House, by Rob Knight
- Webmentions Redux, by Rob Knight β Rob Knight wrote about how he removed the replies from his web mentions in favor of only showing likes, comments, and boosts. While I prefer this approach, I still have the same problem; I want to interact with your post on your website, not on Mastodonβ¦
- Figarc - design floor plans in Figma β I love using Figma to plan out home projects. This kit can make it even easier.
- iPad Pro rant: the clipboard saga that tests my patience daily, by ldstephens
- Moving email newsletters to RSS to keep my sanity, by Bryan β Bryan wrote about a similar experience on why he stopped using Kill The Newsletter to subscribe to newsletters.
- Experiments in Automation: Podcasting and Content Management Workflow, by Marie Poulin β Marie nailed the golden rule for any type of automation: Start with the manual process first.
- Vision Pro App Spotlight: Juno, by By John Voorhees β My #1 Vision Pro use case: pinning and watching YouTube vids across the house.
- Contextual Computing with Vision Pro: My Writing Cabin, by David Sparks β David Sparks has been the source of many of my workflows these days. Time tracking, time blocking, you name it. Contextual computing is one of the most exciting ideas, and I'm trying to adjust my physical workspace. Still, seeing the possibilities of doing this digitally with the Vision Pro is fantastic.
- Making Sofa More Accommodating, by Shawn Hickman β I love how Shawn is documenting and sharing his iterations on the Sofa app.
- The Art and Science of Annotations in Dev Mode, by Figma β But by only adding annotations on Dev Mode they have isolated them only to developers. Dev notes and interaction specs are essential at every step of product design, not just at the end of the process. This seems more like a future-gating business decision.
- Sunday Firesides: Action Requires Traction, by Brett & Kate McKay
- Show me your RSS feeds, and I will tell you who you are, by Kevin Wammer β My wife is more active in social media than me, so if there is anything important RSS might have missed, she will tell me eventually.
- A βDefinition of Doneβ Template, by Dan Mall β Dan is right. As I write this, I've been working on my site for almost a year and still feel I have many things to do.
- Working in the Vision Pro, by Himels Tech β This has been the first video that has convinced me that I will def use the Vision Pro. I work at home and spend the whole day going from room to room with my iPad mini; imagine if I could have contextual screens all over the house.
- Getting the Pump, by Jordan Castro β When I started working out daily, I experienced those same feelings of egoism. It took me a long time to realize that I don't work out for the looks but to be healthy and fit and prepare for the unexpected.
- Skylight Calendar launches a 27-inch bright display, by Jennifer Pattison Tuohy β This is something I hope Apple brings one day. You can replicate something similar with an iPad, but it's not the same. We keep a physical calendar in our kitchen, but we also have our family iCloud shared calendar.
- 12 Months with the iPad Mini, by ldstephens β Stephens share my love for the iPad mini. My favorite Apple device ever!
- Shortcut Buttons For Apple Vision Pro Puts Floating Automation In The Space Around You, by Matthew Cassinelli β This is one of the use cases I can see myself using the Vision Pro the most. Working from I switch rooms often, intercalating work with home chores; I can see myself wearing the Vision Pro and having multiple contextual buttons around the house to log habits, start timers, set Homekit scenes, etc.
I hope you liked this monthβs link digest. Let me know if one or more of the links are interesting to you! Check out my /bookmarks page to see other links Iβve saved.
